Today ,On Ascension Day, our village was the center of the region
with the anual 'Lentefeesten' (Spring-fair).
There was a fair with food, drinks, fashionshows, music and a
flee-market in the mainstreet, an American motorcycle and car show
near the cityhall and a bodypaint competition in a big tent
near the church.

It was a beautiful Sunday so Erika and I went for a walk in the
forest around the 'Volksabdij' in Ossendrecht.

There is some kind of 'bridge' with a viewpoint build over a swamp
with a beautiful view.

It was 30 degrees Celcius so it was time for a motorbike ride. I had
to buy something from a shop in Noordgouwe, a small village in Zeeland
so I took the GoldWing and had a very pleasant ride into Zeeland today.
In Noordgouwe, I had a coffee and apple pie at a nice restaurant before
I went to the shop.
And by the way, Noordgouwe is a very quiet and picturesque little
village with a nice church in the middle of the village.

An acquaintance of us had a fair, with exclusive second hand clothing, books,
art and brocante, in an old barn at his estate. Visitors of the
fair had the chance to get a tour around the estate.
I was there to write an article for
Regioactueel.nl and I joined in one of the tours.
While walking on the estate, we saw a group of does in another field on
the estate. Beautiful !

On May the 25th, there will be a bodypaint competition in our village.
For Regioactueel.nl, I visited a bodypainter to write an article
about it to promote the event.
The organiser of the event, Naomi, had arranged that the painter
Richard and model Natalie gave a bodypaint demonstration for the
photoshoot.
The whole article with "making-of" pictures, will be on
Regioactueel.nl.

When the painting was done, we went outside to get some more
pictures and when we finished that, I asked Natalie to pose on my
red Honda that was parked in the frontyard because I wanted a nice
picture for my own photo album and weblog.

Some time ago, I made a plateau and a wooden stick to sit on,
in the henhouse for our chicken. Unfortunately, they refused
to use it but today three of them used it for the first time
and tonight they slept on it.

There is a small but interesting War-museum in Ossendrecht, not
far from where I live. We got an e-mail that they had two new
restored BMW R12 motorcycles from the second worldwar in the
museum so I went there to write an article about it for
Regioactueel.nl.

Unfortunately, the restauration was only optical, because the
sole purpose was to display the bikes in the museum and not to
ride them again, but they looked good anyway.

Our old Mercedes had to get its annual APK test (a safety check
like the MOT test in Great-Brittain and the TUV in Germany) so
I went to the garage with the car and walked back home.
On my way home, I came through the 'Kooibos'. There is a nice
replica of an old., pre-WW II, airfield control tower in that forest.
