My wife and I wanted to go to Bergen op Zoom to buy me new running
shoes. We were in a sporting mood so we did not use the car but went
to Bergen op Zoom on our bicycles.

In Bergen op Zoom, I bought a nice pair of running shoes at a
'Runners World' shop.

My son Vincent and I are filming a documentary about refugees from
other countries that live in our neighbourhood now.
For each episode, we visit some interesting local 'item' with
a guide and a refugee. The guide tells about the local history and
explains our local habits and customs.
We have already visited a fanfare and a carnival club and today we
visited an historic mansion, Mattemburgh with a couple who came from
Afghanistan.

A toad in the forest near Huijbergen
It is a wonderful spring Sunday and Erika and I went for a walk
in the forest near Huijbergen.
Erika had a geocache app on her phone so we decided to try to
find a cache.
While we were walking, we noticed a toad crossing
the path and hiding in the grass so I got my camera and took a
close-up picture.
We had to walk for a kilometer through the forest to get to the
cache but it was perfect spring weather and we enjoyed the walk.
Some time later, we arrived at the spot of the geocache and
after a little searching, I found it and Erika took this picture
of me.

In the hall of nursing home Stuijvenburgh in Bergen op Zoom, the local
modeltrain club 't Bergs Lijntje had an modeltrain exhibition. I went
there to write an article for
Regioactueel.nl.
For the frontpage of my article, I played a bit with Photoshop Elements
to make a combination of the facade of the building and a model train.

This morning I went to the townhall to write an article for Regioactueel
about a political symposium about healthcare and other care issues.
You can read the article (in Dutch) at
Regioactueel.nl.
The symposium was organised by the local branch of the political party
D66 and a member of parliament and some future members of parliament
attended the symposium (it may have something to do with the coming
elections ... ).
Leo den Heijer who also attended this meeting, made a picture of me while
I was working and sent it to me.

It is Saturday and I wanted to ride so I went to Motoport in Goes to get
a coffee and look at the bikes. When I parked my GoldWing at the parking,
another GoldWing-rider parked his bike next to mine. The bike was a 1976
GL1000. It is ten years older than my GL1200. Nice !

March 1, 2017
Since today, I can ride my GoldWing again. Because of the road-tax rules for
oldtimer and classic vehicles in the Netherlands, I am not allowed to ride
my 31 year old GoldWing in December, January and February.
I went to the "Volksabdij" in Ossendrecht to take some pictures for our
stockphoto archive and then I went to Motorservice Ossendrecht. In the workshop,
John checked the tire-pressure of the GoldWing and I checked the oil level.
Near the Volksabdij in Ossendrecht
From Ossendrecht I went to Putte and crossed the border with Belgium. Via
Kalmthout and Wildert I went back into the Netherlands near Huijbergen.
The weather was good and I enjoyed my ride very much after three months
without my GoldWing.
