June 2010 June 20, 2010 This weekend we had a visit from my friend Kurt from Norway. (We are both members of GWRRA ). He had to be in Amsterdam for work next week and spend the weekend with us. On Saturday, we made a motorcycletrip through Belgium, Brabant and Zeeland. First I had to get my new cradle for the Tomtom Rider on my bike so we went, through Belgium, to Motoport in Breda. They had a very clean looking GoldWing 1500 Interstate in the showroom........ I think I need to win the lottery soon because I would love to have a GoldWing again ;-) Very nice GL1500 Interstate After mounting the Tomtom I told it to avoid highways and we started our trip. We climbed the watchtower at the Philipsdam and stopped to take pictures at the Zeelandbrug and the we visited the classic races in Wemeldinge. On Sunday we went to the Harvest Fair and on Sunday evening, after dinner, Kurt left to ride to Amsterdam...... Ready to go to Amsterdam June 13, 2010 Stephen, a member of one of the Dutch Horizons Unlimited communities organised a meeting for community members from the Netherlands. With a small group of like-minded motorcycle travelers, we had a very pleasand afternoon talking about the countries and people we had seen and our bikes, preperation, plans and so on. Admiring each others bikes With all this talking about trips (some of the participants of the meeting had been riding their bike around the world or had been traveling to far away places like Mongolia or South America) the urge to get on the bike and start riding to foreign countries is growing....... June 8, 2010 Vincent wanted to go to Bergen op Zoom to get some pictures and to go to a shop to look for a camera and he asked me to join him on the scooter. Me on the scooter Vincent took his Tomos moped and I could use his little black scooter. It is very weird to ride a small scooter if you are used to a motorcycle. With no tank between my knees, no footbrake and no gearshift it is very different but it was fun anayway.
