For me, the weekend starts of Friday and today the weather was nice so I made a small
trip with my BMW. First I went into Belgium, to Wuustwezel and from there to Brasschaat.
From Brasschaat, I went to the West for a while until I got on the freeway A12 back to
the Netherlands. At the Zandvliet exit, I left the freeway and took some dirtroads through
the polder to get back home.

My wife and I made a short trip on our bikes. First we went into Belgium and then we went to
the braderie in Huijbergen because I wanted to make some pictures for an article on

About three weeks ago, my wife had borrowed one of my sons his
Audi when it broke down on the freeway.
Unfortunately, the engine was damaged beyond repair so my son
needed another car. At the garage in our village, he bought a
nice secondhand Renault Clio and yesterday he finaly got it.

Easter Island in the polder
I was surprised when, on my way to a motorcycle shop in Goes in Zeeland, I found
five "Moai" statues like the statues on Easter Island.

Today we had a big barbecue with a lot of our neighbours. One of our neighbours had organised
it last year with fifteen or twenty people and this year there were more then fifty people.

It rained when we started but after that shower, it stayed dry until the end. The plan was to stop
at seven o'clock PM and a few minutes before seven the rain started again but during the
barbeque it was dry.
It was very nice and next year, the organiser wants to invite some more neighbours.

This week my oldest son and his wife and children stayed on a camping near where we live.
They visited us a few times during this week. Today, when they were here again, my
granddaughter had a popsicle that she wanted to share with her little brother.

Because they live two hours riding from us, we don't see those two grandchildren very often so
it was nice to have them around for a while.

Thursday evening, my wife and went to Bergen op Zoom to see and hear the Belgian singer
Raymond Van Het Groenewoud at the Wilhelmina Field.
When we arrived, the field was already packed with fans. It was a nice evening and the audience
enjoyed the good music, the beautiful weather and the cozy atmosphere at the Wilhelmina Field.
After the break, it started quiet but when Raymond began with songs like "Vlaanderen boven", "Meisjes",
"Liefde voor muziek " and of course "Je veux de l'amour", the choruses were sung lustily by the fans.

After the concert there was a afterparty in theater "Gebouw-T" with a performance by the Reggae band
Dread Less.

Today was the 5th Oldtimer day in Lepelstraat, close to Bergen op Zoom. I went there on my
BMW to make an article for
Regioactueel.nl.

Because of a technical problem at the BASF plant nearby, they had to flare to burn
some gasses. First I thought there had been a car accident on the highway when I
saw the smoke.
