This morning I got on my bicycle to ride to Ossendrecht for an article
with photos for woensdrecht.nieuws.nl and on my way home I took this
picture of a small lake near the 'Volksabdij'.

Today I went to Slootdorp, more then 200 km from home, to check out
a Honda GoldWing GL1200 Interstate, like I used to have.
I did a test ride and I was rather disapointed. In my memory it
was a much better riding bike but since I am used to the more
modern BMW R850R I ride now, it did not feel as good. Also it was
looking worse the what I expected, based on the pictures in the
advertisment. So I did not buy it.

My BMW F650GS is sold today. Just in time because on Saturday I
will make a testride on a Honda GoldWing GL1200 Interstate.

I just found an old picture of me on my Harley Electra Glide in 1982.
We were visiting my aunt Co in Naarden, near Amsterdam.
It was the nicest bike I ever had. We sold it when my wife was
pregnant and we wanted to buy a house.

We have a one and a half meter society now due tot the corona-virus.
When my sister visited us today, we had to keep one and a half meter
distance. Fortunately we have a nice back yard so we drank our
coffee and ate our pizza's in the back yard, one and a half meter
apart.

Today I went to the gun shop to buy some paper targets for my air
rifle to practice in the backyard. I went there on my bicycle, a
nice ride in nice weather.

Back home from the bicycle trip, I had a job to do. A few months ago,
we bought a 'rain-shower' and I had promissed to install it and today
was the day. I removed the old shower and mounted the rain-shower on
the wall and then I was the first to try it. (Erika did not want on
the photo  ).

This morning I rode with the BMW to Motor Centrum Roosendaal to make
a test ride with the Royal Enfield Himalayan.
With the Himalayan, I rode through Roosendaal, past the station and
past Rosada, to Wouw and from there back on the highway to return to
Motor Centrum Roosendaal.

The Himalayan rides really easy, very light clutch, easy steering and it
is quite comfortable. Only the mirrors are rubbish (but easy to replace)
and in terms of power it could use a bit more horsepower when riding on
the highway. On country roads it rides like a charm and if I had to choose
a motorcycle for a trip around the world I would definitely take this one
but for now... I don't know yet.

This Easter Sunday we could not go to church because of the corona
crisis so I watched the online Easter service of our church, "De
Doorbrekers".

Today I had to quickly go to Huijbergen to take a few photos at a
performance of the singer Ron van Hoof who performed in the garden
of a care home.
I went there on the BMW and on the way back I drove via Ossendrecht,
over the Aanwas and the Oude Hinkelenoorddijk to Woensdrecht and
home. A breath of fresh air. My new window spoiler works fine and
I now usually drive with my visor open and I am much less bothered
by the roar of the wind.

The city council held a press conference today. I went to write
about it for our newssite Woensdrecht.nieuws.nl and I got there
on my bicycle.

The weather is lovely and after a nice breakfast in the backyard
I also did my fitness training in the backyard.

April 1, 2020,
Yesterday I had done 24 km bicycle tour and today I wanted to do
a longer tour so I found a route from home to Rilland, along the
shooting club, that is very deserted now, and then via Ossendrecht
to Huijbergen and back home, 33.3 km.

In the afternoon, I went to the gun shop in Rilland on the BMW to
buy some munition, and pellets for my air rifle. The new spoiler on
the windshield of the BMW worked fine. I could ride on the freeway
with the faceshield of my helmet open.
