The neighborhood watch in Putte had organised a safety event on Tuesday
afternoon and evening. I went there for our newssite to write an article
about the event.
The subjects of the event where poverty, drugs and traffic. After a
presentation about poverty and how to recognize problems with hidden poverty,
we had a meal and then a policeman gave us a presentation about drugs.
Finally we went to the main street to 'catch' speeders. In this case, because
it was a safety event and not a real speed trap, the drivers just got a
warning. All the people at the event who wanted could get a turn with the
lasergun and so did I.

I just got one driver at 40 km.h in a 30 km/h zone. Not very spectaculair
but is was fun to be at the other end of the police lasergun
 .

Yesterday my cousin Evert-Jan from France asked if he could come by
because he was in Antwerp in Belgium, not far from where I live.
That evening we had dinner at the new pancake restaurant in our village
and today we did a motorcycle tour in Zeeland.

First we went to Goes and from Goes to Zierikzee over the Zeelandbridge.
After coffee in Zierikzee we went to the 'Oosterscheldekeering' and the
Isle Neeltje-Jans. our next coffeestop was in Veere and from Veere we
went back to my home.

It has been a while but this afternoon I had some time for a motorbike ride.
I had a nice trip around the Isle Tholen and enjoyed the 25 degrees Celcius
weather. It is a blessing to have such nice weather this time of the year.

The weather is extremely nice for the time of year, more then 20 degrees
Celcius. So after I did some work on an article for Woensdrecht.nieuws.nl,
I got on the Honda for a short ride.
First I went to Rilland and from Rilland I took the road behind the
Westerschelde dyke to Belgium. From the harbour area of Antwerp, I went
back home past the South of Ossendrecht and over a dirtroad back to the
main road to Hoogerheide.

Later that afternoon, my brother-in-law Bruno arrived with his son, to
pick up a book. He had not told me he had bought a beautiful BMW R1200GS
to replace his damaged R850. What a great bike !

Today we did not fire one shot at the shooting-club because we had
our annual BBQ. Some members brought their guitars and we had a lot
of fun while eating pork, hamburgers and chickensaté and singing
countrysongs.

The second day of our weekend without news-jobs, Erika and I went
for a hike through the forest at the "Volksabdij' in Ossendrecht.
