Today I have to go to the dentist so I don't go to the office
but I work from home on the laptop. I am working on my desk in
my study and the view from the window is very beautiful because
the tree in front of my window is filled with flowers.

Because I have an annual pass to travel with all public transport in the Netherlands,
I got an invitation to try the highspeed train from Amsterdam to Rotterdam for free.
Today I left work a little earlier and instead of going home, I took the slow train to
Amsterdam and in Amsterdam I took the FYRA high speed train to Rotterdam.

It is only a 41 minute trip instead of the 63 minutes the normal intercity takes for
the trip but it is not very exciting. The train goes through a lot of (noisy) tunnels.
With the trains they use now, the top speed is 160 km/h (100 mph). Just a little faster
then the 130 km/h normal trains do. Later, with new trains, the top speed should be
250 km/h.
I think the biggest advantage now, is that after leaving Amsterdam it only stops at
Schiphol International Airport before its final destination Rooterdam Central Station.

This morning I left home around half past ten to go to my oldest son who lives 150 km away.
Their car had a problem and now they will use ours until their new car arrives.
I drove the car to their house and after a few cups of coffee, I went back by train.

The first part of the trip, by car, took 1 1/2 hour. Th trip home, by train, took me 3 1/2 hour !!.

After being to Bergen op Zoom for a article on RegioActueel, I drove to Goes, to Motoport, the big
motorcycle shop. It is dry and sometimes sunny so it is a very nice day for a small biketrip.
At Motoport I check out the bikes for sale but there is no bike in my price range that I like more
then my BMW F650GS.

On my way home I took a lot of very narrow roads along the dikes and realy enjoyed the ride.

Today two of my sons with their wifes were visiting us. While the boys went to Antwerp
to see a movie, my wife and two daughters-in-law went for a walk with our two grandchildren .

My oldest son is the drummer of the band
Saymore. This
Saturdaynight they played in the club "Panama" in Amsterdam.
Tjerk, Stèphanie, Sjoerd and Jaap-Jan
They shared that evening with the band Headlife. Club Panama has a very nice
stage for bands and we enjoyed an evening listening to Saymore and Headlife.
