The bike
My BMW F650GS
Why this BMW ?
The reason I wanted to make this trip on this BMW is that it is a
nice bike to drive, has enough luggage capacity, it is very comfortable
for a all-road bike and is well suited for highway use as well as
dirt roads.
Another big advantage is the fuel consumption. With a fuel price of almost
1.40 euro for a liter, riding 25 km on a liter is a plus!

Update April 17th, 2006.
|
|
I had a new set of Bridgestone tires mounted,
a new chain and sprockets and I had the 30.000 km
service done at the BMW dealer so the bike is ready
for the trip. What I would have liked to get before the trip
is a motorcycle GPS system like a Garmin Quest II but
I'm afraid I'll have to wait to next year before I get one.
