Epilog

The bikes
The Goldwing did what it had to do. It used no oil and the average fuel consumption was between eighteen and nineteen kilometer on a liter.
The only little "repair" I had to do was to fix the left handlebar grip that came loose but that problem was easy solved with some tape.

Dick's BMW had no problem either. It did use a little oil but that is what BMW's do and is normal. The broken attachment of the pannier was fixed for free at the BMW dealer in Dresden.

The destinations
The Czech Republic is a great country. The people are friendly, the hotels are nice, fuel is cheap, beer and other drinks cost almost half what they cost in the Netherlands, food is good and cheap and the roads are fine.
There is a lot to do and see. Nice castles, old villages, wonderful nature reserves, Prague is a great city to visit and we were lucky with nice weather.

Germany is a nice country to ride a motorcycle. The roads are good and the people speak a language that I can understand and speak.
Dresden was nice but not a city I would go to again. It has some nice old buildings but in general, it is just another city.

The Andernach Geyser and the Laacher See were interesting and the little boat trip on the Rhine was nice too.

Riding with a friend instead of alone
Most of my previous trips I had done alone. This time I was together with my friend Dick. It was nice to ride together and to talk about the ride or whatever we had done, with a nice Czech beer in the evening.
I was happy to be with Dick because he likes the same kind of relaxed riding that I do and has in general the same interests that I do, so he was a good riding partner.
I did miss to be all on my own, wandering alone in the city's or on the road, like I was used to do.

Conclusion
It was a wonderful holiday !

.....and I have two new badges for my "memories vest"
