At half past seven, I was having breakfast. When in a hotel I always try to get a good breakfast.
I don't eat much while I'm riding so a good breakfast is important and it's in the price of the
room so beter use it right.
Breakfast in the hotel
Then I went to the garage to load my luggage on the bike. There were two other bikes in the garage,
a BMW and an Aprilia.
The GoldWing in the garage
An hour after breakfast I was on the bike again heading North. I drove past Varde, Nebel
and Lyngrig and then I arrived in Hee. The wind is very hard again and I had to lean to the left
most of the way.
It must be interesting to see the sea in this storm now, so I switched of the Tomtom and took a road
to the coast. I asked for directions at a gasstation in Stadl and a few minutes later, I saw the sand dunes
Farmhouse, right behind the dunes
I looked for a tar road into the dunes and after a few kilometers, I found one. It was going to a
parking right behind the last dune before the beach. I parked the GoldWing and walked over the dune to
see the big waves. It was an impressive sight.
Storm at sea
Back at the bike I let the Tomtom lead me back to the main road. I used a navigationpoint
somewhere halfway and I must have done something wrong because I ended up at a narrow dirtroad.
Finaly it arrived at a farmhouse with an angry dog so I turned around quickly and rode back with a
barking dog running behind the bike.
This dirtroad the Tomtom told me to ride
From the coast I drove to Ikast and from Ikast to Fredericia, near the bridge to Fyn.
Before I left Ikast, I checked the oil (it was OK) on a parking beside the road and programed
the Tomtom for Fredericia.
Nice forrests and fields with corn
The roads through Jylland were beautifull. A lot of forrests and fields with corn and grassland.
A joy to ride and with the Tomtom I found a lot of nice small roads that I would never had found without.
Lonely road
Near the village Lund, I drove past a big old Soviet statue of Lenin. Very strange.....
I guess it must be the house of an artist of advertising agency.
Old Soviet statue
There were some nice lakes to. People were fishing and children were playing in a canoe.
It looked all very "friendly".
Nice lakes and forrests in central Denmark
The roads were great and there was not much traffic but the wind was still very hard but
not as bad as at the coast. If you look at the pictures, you can see the trees leaning with the wind.
Look at the trees.
This is the kind of road I bought the Tomtom for !
Wide open landscape
Near Vejle I filled my tank again. The bike was doing fine although I think 15 km/liter is not very good.
When I was near Fredericia, I put Odense as destination in the GPS and over the bridge at Middelfart,
I arrived on the Isle Fyn.
The bridge to Fyn
Again I let the GPS avoid freeways and on a nice road I drive to Odense. In Odense I let the Tomtom
show me the nearest hotels. The first one I try is expensive but the next, the City Hotel Odense is
good, has a safe parking for the bike and is not to expensive.
My hotel in Odense
After putting my luggage in my room, I left the hotel to explore Odense. It is a nice town. I
was here a few years ago with a treffen of GoldWing Club Denmark and again I walked to the Hans
Christian Andersen house.

Then I walked to the center and near a big church, I saw a hotdog stall. I ordered a hotdog and checked my
Danish coins to see if I could pay with coins. I didn't have enough so I wanted to get my banknotes but
the friendly girl that makes the hotdogs told me it was closing time so the coins were OK. I got a
hotdog with "everthing", for a very low price. Very nice.
Here I bought a hotdog
Nice church
Odense is a nice town with very nice old buildings and the small colored houses you see
everywhere in Denmark. I bought a few bottles with cola and fruitjuice and a Danish biker
magazine at a kiosk and then I walked through Odense for another hour.

Beautiful park

Nice old building
Back at the hotel, I got the key for the free office room with an Internet PC and a printer and fax
and checked my e-mail (only xs4all, the other webmail didn't work) browsed some newssites and
message boards and then I went to my room to watch TV and have a coffee (that I got from a coffee
machine in the basement).
