At half past seven I got out of my bed and took a shower. Unfortunately the water did
not get very warm.... Then I packed all my belongings and loaded it on the GoldWing.
I had breakfast and checked out of the hotel and went on my way to Beaufort, a little
village nearby, with an old castle.
Everything in the bags and ready to go
In the old castle of Beaufort, they sell Cassero, a liqueur of black berries that I
like very much. Years ago, when I was in Luxembourg with my parents, my mother used
to drink this. Then my daughter bought a bottle for me when she was on holiday in
Luxembourg and I liked it too, so now I wanted to buy a bottle for me and one for my
mother.

After safely putting the bottles in my panniers, I started my way home. Past Clervaux,
I went into Belgium, via Saint-Vith, Malmedy and Verviers. Somewhere along this route,
I had stopped to drink some water and eat a muesli-bar but I can not remember in which
village it was.
Here I had some water and a muesli-bar
Half an hour later, I arrived at the US Military Cemetery Henri-Chapelle. It is situated
on the Rue du Memorial Americain, on the main road from Liege to Aachen, at the village
Henri-Chapelle. It has almost 20 hectares with graves !

Soon after leaving the cemetery, I crossed the border into the Netherlands again and
went on my to the village Valkenburg in the South of the Dutch province Limburg.

In Valkenburg, I parked my bike to drink some water and to check the map for my next
section of the ride. I decided to take the freeway to the North of Limburg. There, I
can leave the freeway and cross the Belgian border again to the village Maaseik.

The ride on the freeway was only half an hour. Near Maaseik, I left the freeway and
crossed the river Maas into Begium. It was very hot. So hot that a herd of horses in
a pasture next to the bridge, was taking a cool bath in the river.

About an hour later, I had a coffee and apple-pie at a restaurant in Weebosch, just
over the border in the Netherlands.

I did not want to get on the freeway again so I planned a route via Turnhout and Wuustwezel
in Belgium, to Putte on the Dutch border.

From Putte it was only a short ride home and five o'clock PM, I parked the GoldWing in
front of my garage after a great ride to Luxembourg.
