I got up at half past seven and at eight o'clock, I went to the restaurant for breakfast. There was a lot of
choice and I got bread and yoghurt with coffee and orangejus.

This day, the ride would be from Wesel in Germany to Berdorf in Luxembourg. I had planned a route that
would be on some nice roads through the Eifel. But first I checked out and left the hotel and rode through
Wesel on my way West, to Luxembourg.
Ready to go !
In Wesel I stopped at the side of the road to take a picture of the 320.08 metres high radio mast.

The FM and TV-mast Wesel is a 320.8 metre tall guyed steel framework radio mast of the Deutsche Telekom AG
at Wesel-Büderich, Germany. FM and TV-mast Wesel was built in 1968 and is used for FM- and TV transmission.
FM and TV-mast Wesel is the second tallest structure in Northrhine-Westphalia. Before the construction of the
chimney of Power Station Westerholt, it was the tallest structure of North Rhine-Westphalia. It reclaimed this
title after the chimney's demolition on November 12th, 2006.

After riding for two hours, I needed to drink some water and parked the bike in Jülich, close to the river
Roer. I drank some water from the bottle in my topcase and walked to the bank of the river.

At a quarter past noon, it was time for lunch so when I saw a hotel/restaurant with a sign "Biker Treff"
I decided to have my lunch there.
Hotel Hermanns in Schleiden
I was sitting on the terrace in the shade of a parasol and had a coffee and very good cheese sandwich
while I enjoyed the view.

Some time later I had to cross a bridge over the river Nims and it was such a nice view that I stopped
to take a picture.

At half past two in the afternoon, I crossed the border between Germany and Luxembourg on the bridge at
Echternach.

Half an hour and a nice ride between rocky hills and forrests later, I arrived at the hotel in Berdorf,
Hotel DeFive on 25 Rue d'Echternach. There was a parking next to the hotel and the hotelrooms were on
the floor above the café/restaurant. I had a nice room with 'streetview' and unfortunately, also
streetnoise.

With my luggage in my room, I got on the bike again for a ride on the roads that I enjoy so much. First
I went to Echternach. Although it is prohibited to use a dashcam in Luxembourg, I did took a few pictures
with my Nikon camera on the fairing of the Goldwing. I do not think the roads and rocks that I took
pictures of, have a problem with privacy.

In Echternach, I parked my bike on the townsquare and walked through the center past the Saint
Willibrord Basilica and the old Town hall.

From Echternach, I went to Larochette, a road that I enjoyed years ago on my Yamaha RD350 in 1976
and that I still like to ride. Before I left Echternach, I bought a 2 liter bottle of water at a
gas station.
Somewhere on the road to Larochette, I stopped at a parking to drink some water. While I was sitting
on a parkbench next to my bike, a Mercedes SL cabrio with two old people stopped next to my bike.
The gentleman, admired my bike and told me that he used to ride a BMW R80 until he was 70. He would
ride it only on sunny sundays and after twenty years owning it, the bike had just 18000 km on the
odometer when he sold it.

In Larochette, I stopped in the town square and took a picture of the Château de Larochette. Every
time I come here, there is a little more restauration done. I walked around the square and went to
a magazineshop to buy a motorcycle magazine but they did not have any motorcycle magazines.

Past camping Auf Kengert, I rode to Diekirch and then to Vianden. At a bus station I took a picture
of the GoldWing with the big castle of Vianden in the background.

Near Vianden I went to the dam of the hydroelectric power plant to watch it from close by. Next to
the dam, is a beautiful situated cemetery and on the hillside, above the gravestones and monuments
was a beautiful little chapel.

From Vianden, I went back to Berdorf, to the hotel. At the hotel, a Belgian biker on a Honda Shadow
had arrived. We had a beer and then it was time for my dinner, a Wienerschnitzel with French fries,
salad and finaly a cup of coffee.

After dinner, we had another beer and then I went to my room to plan a trip for the next day and
then I went to bed.
