A midweek in a holidayhome in Hattemerbroek (page 3)
Thursday, August 26, 2021
For today we had some shopping to do and we wanted to buy nice plants for
two of my wifes nieces who live nearby. We were in Wezep at just a few
minutes past twelve but all the flower shops were closed.
Fortunately my wifes niece called that they would come at two o'clock and not
at half past one, so we quickly drove to a flower shop in Hattem for two
beautiful plants.
At two o'clock my wifes niece and her husband arrived at the holiday home for
coffee. We had a good time and at the end of the afternoon they invited us for
dinner at restaurant Banka in Hattem.

We parked the cars in the parking garage and had a delicious meal. I had a
salad with goat cheese and my wife something vegetarian.
After a cup of coffee, my wifes niece and her husband went home and we went to
Zwolle to visit another of my wifes nieces and her husband.
It was quite late before we went back to the holiday house that evening.

Today we have to go home. My wife is happy that she will soon have her cats and
chickens around her again, but I am sorry that we have to leave this lovely quiet
house.
The two of us cleaned up the house and for lunch we each had a portion of
tagliatelle with salmon that we had just bought at the Albert Heijn supermarket.
These microwave meals were actually meant for last night, but then we unexpectedly
went out for dinner with my wifes niece and her husband. Luckily they were in the
fridge. Although the microwave was acting weird (the glass tray didn't turn), the
meals tasted fine. It is a pity that there is now a fishy smell in the house ......

After dinner we packed and cleaned up the last things. My wife has done the last bit
of dishes and I walked with the garbage bag to the garbage dump at the beginning of
the bungalow park.
Around half past one we were ready to leave, locked the house, put the keys in the
key box and we left for home.
I had hoped to be ahead of the traffic jams, but unfortunately it turned ou to be
a little disappointing. We had a lot of traffic jams on our way home.
We drove from one traffic jam to another
After a tiring drive for about three hours we finally arrived home.
On the stairs in our house we found a decorated very nice surprise from our children.
It was a present for our wedding anniversary (a few days ago). The present was a
voucher for a family dinner on the pancake boat in Rotterdam.

Because of the corona situation, it was later changed to a day at the zoo with
the whole family.
