The third day of our short holiday
This Wednesday was museum visit day. To start with the Anton Pieck museum in Hattem,
but first we had a nice quiet breakfast outside on the terrace in front of the house.

We see animals here quite regularly. Beautiful birds and sometimes we also see squirrels
walking by. But they are much shy here than the squirrels I saw in Canada.

The Anton Pieck museum was nice, parking in the neighborhood a lot less nice (max one
hour and two hours in the parking garage). There was not only work by Anton Pieck in
the museum, but also his study and also some very nice artworks by Charlotte_Dematons
on the 1st floor.

Our parking hour was almost over so we had to park the car somewhere else before
we could visit the Voerman Village Museum. After driving around a bit I found a spot, for
one hour again, near the museum.

In the museum are paintings by the famous father and son Voerman and some
other painters who are connected to Hattem in one way or another.

We drank a cup of coffee in the cozy courtyard of the museum and while I went to
view the exhibition in the basement, my wife stayed in the courtyard.

There was an interesting archaeological exhibition with mammoth bones,
archaeological finds from different periods and a model of a castle that
once stood in Hattem in the basement of the museum.

After the Voerman Village Museum we wanted to go to the bakery museum, but we
first had to find a parking space. Fortunately, we found a parking garage
where we could park for free for two hours.

It is our oldest son his birthday today so my wife had arranged that we would
meet him and his wife and children at the Farm Museum.
The Veluws Museum 'Hagedoorns Plaatse' is a regional museum in the hamlet of
Zuuk at 11 Ledderweg in the municipality of Epe. We had an appointment at
two o'clock.....

We first looked at an exhibition in the building at the reception. It was an
exhibition about the second world war and also about Volvo cars and some other things
in the same room. After that, we went outside. In the yard the children could play
old-fashioned children games for a while.

The apiary, with an active bee colony was very interesting
It's our sons birthday and that includes cake, so we had a 'cake picnic'
in the parking lot of the museum, in the shade between a few cars
Next on the program was the medieval castle Cannenburch at the Maarten van Rossumplein 4
in Vaassen.

In the attic were two small paintings. With a nice hologram trick, a tiny person
walked out of each painting and the they talked to each other. Very nice! Even
our two young grandsons stayed quiet for a while.

At the parking lot at the museum, we said goodbye to our son, his wife and
the children. We drove back to the house in Hattemmerbroek for a nice portion
airfryer French fries with McDonalds salad and a relaxed evening in the house.
