To Paris on a Cruiser

We drive past Soissons and follow the N2 in the direction of Laon. Halfway Laon, I'm getting a bit sleepy so I look for a parking to rest, have a drink and a few muesli bars. Then, where the road goes from four lane to two lane, I notice a storage of crash barriers they use by roadworks. It has plenty of room to park and we can use the plastic crash barrier modules as table and chair.

Here we had a break for some cookies and a soda

After we stopped, Bruno tells me he just wanted to stop too, for the same reason, so the timing was good. When I eat something and drink a Redbull I feel a lot better.
We have been driving for two hours since we left Paris and I drove more then 500 km since I left home this morning.

Relax :-)

When we feel fit again, we get on the bikes and drive past Laon. First on the N2 in the direction of Marle and then, just outside Laon, on the D977 in the direction of Montcornet.

On our way to Montcornet we pass a small village, Liesse Notre Dame, with an interesting townsquare.
It has a nice old church, next to it a synagogue, then a very nice "Hotel de Ville" and a nice statue from one of the World Wars that France was involved in.

I think this is (or was) a synagogue

From here we drive to Montcornet. In Montcornet we see a church that looks like a castle from the Middle Ages. I looks like it is very old and is very big for such a small village.

The villages are very nice here and the roads are good. I never knew this part of France was so beautiful.

The D946 goes from Montcornet to Rozey and then the D977 goes to Rumigny. From Rumigny to Mon Idee, we follow the D877.
Somewhere between Rozey and Rumigny we ride through Brunehamel when we see a swarm of swallows on an old house.

My odometer shows 40030 km now so I passed the 40000 today. The BMW Cruiser is a nice bike. The brakes and roadholding are very good but I do have to get used to the trottle response of the injection system.
