Introduction

After riding to the North Cape in the top of Scandinavia in the summer of 2006, it is
now time for the second part of my North Cape to Gibraltar project.
This time I wanted to ride all the way to Gibraltar to finish
my NorthCape to Gibraltar project and to see a lot of nice places on the way.
The BMW F650GS did a perfect job on my trip to the North Cape but in the mean
time I upgraded to a BMW R1100GS that I will use for the trip to Gibraltar.

I had planned about three weeks and a serious budget for this part of the trip.
Because of some family business, (one of my sons got married and I became a
grandfather at the end of 2008  )
I'll not make the trip in 2008. Then, when I wanted to go in 2010, there was some
more family business (and another grandchild ), now in 2012 I hoped to
make the trip with the BMW R1100GS that I bought.
But then some other things happened and I had to cut my budget again so I decided to
skip the Portugal part and ride a lot of kilometers per day to do it in a shorter time and
safe money on food and lodging.
That is nice in theory but riding more then 500 km each day, mostly on freeways, while
it was hot in the South of France and Spain was not half as much fun as I hoped it would
be so when I arrived in Barcelona, I decided to shorten the trip and have fun instead of
making it an endurance chalenge.

During the trip, I'll update this website with short trip reports.
When I'm back home again, I'll replace the short notes with the real trip
report with a lot of pictures.
