After I left the Rhein at Bingen am Rhein, I enjoyed the nice roads. Along the B50, near Gau-Bickelheim
I stopped at a "Rastplatz" for a cappuccino. A big roadside restaurant more or less in the middle of
nowhere.

From the restaurant, it was riding a nice road, past Worms to Hemsbach where the hotel is.
Nice road
I booked a hotelroom via an online booking site. It was in hotel Der Watzenhof on Balzenbach 2 in
Hemsbach, 69502. I was glad I had an GPS because the hotel was situated somewhere in a valley
in the middle of nowhere. The last few kilometers to the hotel was on a very narrow and bad, bumpy
road that went through the forest and mountains but the hotel was very nice.

For 41 euro, I had a big room with a separate sitting room with a view on the green mountainsides
around the valley and including breakfast ! A very good deal.
After checking in, I went to the HU meeting but that was easier said the done. When i entered the
address in my Tomtom, I ended in the middle of a busy intersection in a nearby town. This could
not be right........
Fortunately, there where also GPS coordinates (N49 36.422 E8 42.421 ) on the website and after
entering the coordinates in the Tomtom, I found the HU meeting in a few minutes.

Because the trip took a little longer then I had expected, I was much to late but in time to see the
"rubber band pulling" that was very funny.
"Rubber band pulling" game
I think he was the best and won the game.
Last time in Belgium, I had stayed on the campsite but now I had a hotelroom but most people
had a tent on the treffen field.

After a nice German style currywurst and french fries meal in the restaurant „Zur Schneeburg“, I
attended a meeting about a trip to Tunesia but after a long day behind the wheel, I was very tired
and I went back to the hotel.

On my way to the hotel I took a wrong turn somewhere and ended up on a dirtroad that went high
up in the forest on the mountain but is was fun to ride in my little jeep. Unfortunately it was getting
dark so I turned the car around and went back into the valley to get on the right road to the hotel.
On the last corner before the hotel, I had a nice view so I stopped the car to take some pictures.
The sunset was very beautiful.

The next morning I had an early breakfast at half past seven. At eight o'clock AM, I left the hotel,
one of the nicest hotels I have ever been in. It was not expensive at all. I had a living room, a
bedroom and a bathroom, for €41 a night including breakfast !
View from the living room to the bedroom
Nice livingroom with a great view.
Because I knew it would be an "all day" ride home, I did not went back to the HU meeting but decided to
take the long way home through Luxembourg and to fill my tank in Luxembourg (in Luxembourg
the petrol price is much much lower then in the Netherlands and most other European countries) .
Musical frogs on a roundabout near the hotel
Back over the bridge over the Rhein in Worms, I went West in the direction of Echternach in Luxembourg.
The Nibelungen bridge in Worms
I really love the "avoid freeways" function in my Tomtom. On my way to Echternach, I came through
picturesque villages, on meandering roads through beautiful forest and fields.
Beautiful road past hilles and forests
