Because my wife was visiting an old neighbour in The Hague, I had almost the whole day to myself
so I checked the Bigtwin website for interesting events and found "Pietersen Roll & Rock III"
in Rotterdam. An event organised by a big US car and bike dealer in the port of Rotterdam.
Pietersen Roll & Rock III
After my wife left, I packed my Fuji DSLR camera and got the BMW out of the garage. I typed
the address in the Tomtom and left home. It was good that I had my rain trousers in my pannier
because a few minutes after I left home, the rain started so I stopped and put my rain trousers on.
Over the Oesterdam in Zeeland, I rode to the Philipsdam and the Grevelingendam and then via
Goeree-Overflakkee to the Haringvliet sluices and the Haringvlietdam.
Near the Philipsdam
A tower near Dirksland, in the rain
Past Spijkenisse (we used to live there for a few years) I went to Rotterdam and in the port area
2248 I finaly found the Rock & Roll event.
The bridge near Spijkenisse
A few hundred meters of Waalhaven ZuidZijde (the street where the event was held) was
closed for traffic and was used as a parking for all the bikes and as was occasionaly used an
unofficial dragstrip for some nice muscle cars.
The bike parking at the event
I parked the BMW next to a GoldWIng 1500 and a Harley, changed my helmet for my camera
in my topcase and walked to the event area.
A very old Indian.
Past a very old Indian and an old Police Chevrolet Suburban, I arrived at the event and because
forgot to have breakfast this morning, I bought a very nice hotdog with sauerkraut and onions.
The hotdog stand
The garage with some very nice ( and big) American cars.....
.......and a nice matt black Harley Bagger.....
.... and some customised bikes
An artist was painting a cool Harley chopper
A cheap bike garage
A very rare Eric Buell Racing bike (This bike has serial number 002. The number 001
is Eric Buell his personal bike)
A cover band playing good music
A drag racer that was started sometimes (It was very loud)
A massive V-Twin engine
Lowrider car with special hydraulics
A lot of stands with nice to have things and a real American schoolbus
Beautiful special paint on a Harley tank
And THAT is a limo
Showing off with lots of sound and horsepower
... and this is where the horses came from
Some nice trikes
After about an hour, I had seen what I wanted to see and went home again. Our daughter would
bring our granddaughter at half past four because the had an anniversary so I had to be home in
time.
Through the port area of Rottredam I drove to Spijkenisse and past a house in Spijkenisse were
we used to live a long tiome ago.

Then I took the same route that I came, via the Haringvliet sluices and the Haringvlietdam, over
Goeree-Overflakkee and over the Grevelingendam and the Philipsdam but instead of the route
via the Oesterdam, I rode through Halsteren and Bergen op Zoom on my way home.
I just had a little rain and it was not cold. I had a very nice ride and I rode about 230 km today.
