My wife was doing a daytrip with her friends to Veere in Zeeland so I
had all day for myself. The weather was perfect, 25 degrees Celcius, so I
went for a ride.
From home I rode through Huijbergen to Wildert in Belgium and from Wildert I
went back into the Netherlands and via Achtmaal and Zundert I went to Breda.
In Breda, I visited OIT, a big harley Davidson dealer, to check out the new
Harleys. They are beautiful but I still prefer my GoldWing.
From Breda I rode on narrow country-roads, via Zevenbergschenhoek and Lage
Zwaluwe to the Moerdijk-bridge.

A bunker at the foot of the Moerdijk-railroad bridge
A very long train with two floors of new
cars passed by while I was standing there
After a brief stop at the bunker, I rode a little further,
up to the monument that stands at the beginning of the
Moerdijk freeway-bridge.

Through a small tunnel under the freeway I rode on the dike
to the village Moerdijk. I came on a dead-end road where I
could not continue because I stumbled on a large SHELL
refinery complex and had to go back.
This was a dead end, towards a SHELL refinery complex
From Moerdijk I went to Klundert, a small village. On the terrace
of a small restaurant I had a croquette sandwich, a coffee and
a milkshake.
I relaxed at my table in the shade, with a view on my bike and
enjoyed my lunch.

After I finished my lunch, I got back on the GoldWing and through
Fijnaart, Kruisland and past Wouw I went in the direction of
Wouwse Plantage. I crossed the bridge over the freeway and left
the main road to get on another country road and via Heimolen
I came on the Antwerpsestraatweg in the direction of home.
At the Texaco on the Antwerpsestraatweg I filled my tank again.
The fuel-consumption had been one liter for eighteen kilometer
so that was reasonable. Especially since I had been riding a lot
of country roads and through small villages, more often in third
and fourth gear then in fifth gear.
After a lovely summer ride I arrived home at three o'clock.
