My bike history

My motorbike history and my bikes On this page, I would like to show you something of my greatest hobby (some people call it passion or madness), riding motorcycles in general and making long motorcycle trips in particular . Me, having fun Introduction A long time ago, when I was a very young boy, I went with my uncle and aunt to the motocross. I was sitting between them on my uncles Triumph Speed Twin and when we went home after the cross, he let me sit on the tank and hold the handlebars. That must have been the moment the bikebug hit me and after that moment, it never went away ;-) When I was sixteen, I bought my first moped and at seventeen I drove from my home near The Hague to Luxembourg on my Benelli T50 moped, a two day trip in the snow. It was in the Easter holliday. At eightteen years old, I bought my first "real" motorbike, a Russian Ural 650cc boxer twin and since then I have had quiet a number of bikes. Now I own a red Honda GoldWing GL1200 Interstate from 1986 and a BMW R1200GS from 2005. In 2013, it was fourty years ago that I started riding (on my Puch Maxi moped) and to celebrate that, I had the "touring bike" logo that I used on my business cards and website, tattooed on my right shoulder. Here are the bikes; First the bike I have now..... A blue Harley-Davidson FXD Dyna Super Glide from 2001. A red Honda GL1200 Interstate from 1986. And then the bikes I had in the past.... A black and grey BMW R1200GS from 2005. A twin cilinder BMW touring bike BMW R850R from 1995. A red BMW F650GS from 2000. A three cilinder BMW touring bike BMW K75RT from 1993. A classic Honda CB400T from 1978. A fun bike to ride. A beautiful two tone blue GoldWing GL1200 Aspencade from 1986. A nice yellow BMW R1100GS from 1997, that I rode to Morocco and more. A big blue six cylinder GoldWing GL1500/6 that I had for a year.. The beautiful red all road BMW F650GS that I had for a few years. The nice luxurious Kawasaki Voyager XII that I bought and sold a few weeks later.. The second GoldWing GL1200. A beautiful GL1200 Aspencade The Jawa 639 with Velorex sidecar to take the kids for a ride. The Cruiser, a BMW R1200C, that I bought after I sold the GoldWing. The bike I had for eleven years, a very nice Honda GL1200 Interstate. A Harley Davidson FLT TourGlide. A bike I liked very much, the Harley Sportster XLH883. My first brand new BMW, a BMW R80 with an imitation Windjammer fairing. The Harley XLH883 Hugger, a beautyfull bike but with many problems. A Honda GL1000 GoldWing with fairing, special paint etc. A very old, "customized" 600cc BMW R67/2. My second Yamaha SR500, a great litle bike. The BSA A10 chopper that I build. A real beauty, the KH900, a 900cc Harley sidevalve bike. The "Big Black Bike", a BMW R60/5 frame, R100RS engine and Moturist sidecar. A litle more reliable then the BSA, a BMW R60/5 with Eagle sidecar. Just for fun, a CZ 250. When we needed an extra seat, I bought a BSA A10 with JAWA sidecar. My first Honda GoldWing, a "sportive" Honda GL1000 Then a BMW R60/5 again. The "real" Harley, the 1200cc Electra Glide. One of the best bikes I ever had, the BMW R90/6. Erika's first bike, an old Honda CB200 twin. My "comeback" bike after a nasty bike accident with the SR500, the BMW R60/5. A real German classic, the BMW R60. A big single, the Yamaha SR500! The waterboiler, a very fast Suzuki GT750. An Italian Harley, the Harley Davidson 250 SS two stroke. A very small Honda CB125S single cylinder four stroke. The sportbike, a Yamaha RD350 two stroke. My first motorbike, a Russian Ural 650cc boxer. ... and finaly I had two mopeds, before I was 18 year old..... A very nice moped, that looked like a motorbike, this Benelli T50. My first moped was a simple Puch Maxi.
